TalaashConnect ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use
our services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide community missing person reporting and search services, we collect:
- Account Information: Name, email address, profile picture, and phone number when you
register via Email/Password or Google Sign-In.
- Missing Person Report Details: Name, father's name, age, gender, category, physical
descriptions, last-seen date/time, and photos uploaded by you to help identify missing individuals.
- Contact Information for Reports: Reporter contact number and WhatsApp number provided to
allow community members and law enforcement to submit leads.
- Location Data: With your permission, we collect precise or approximate GPS coordinates and
last-seen addresses using Google Maps to display search areas and location pins.
- Media & Device Files: Access to camera and photo library to upload missing person photos or
user avatars.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To publish and display missing person alerts publicly to assist in locating individuals.
- To enable direct contact between searchers and reporters via phone call or WhatsApp.
- To verify user identity and maintain application security.
- To improve app features, performance, and community response times.
3. Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party providers that may process certain data in accordance with their privacy
policies:
- Google Play Services & Firebase: Authentication, Cloud Firestore (database storage), and
Firebase Storage.
- Google Maps Platform & Geolocator: Displaying maps and location markers.
- Cloudinary: Secure image hosting and delivery.
4. Data Sharing & Public Visibility
Missing person reports (photos, names, last-seen locations, and reporter contact numbers) are intentionally
published publicly within the app to maximize the chances of finding missing persons. We never sell your
personal information to third parties or advertisers.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You can manage, edit, or delete any missing person report you created at any time through the "My Reports"
section. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data, you may request
account deletion directly in the app or by emailing us at the address below.
6. Children's Privacy
Our app allows adults and guardians to report missing minors for emergency search purposes. However, the app
account creation is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly solicit accounts from
minors without parental supervision.
